This morning I saw an update on Facebook that intrigued me. Seth Apter is doing a fun little collective project showing real artist studio tables. These are working artist tables not the fancy photos shown in those artist magazines. I have a love/hate relationship with those magazines. I wonder how long the artists cleaned in preparation for the studio shoots and some of the spaces appear too beautiful to make art in. I dream of a bigger better studio with actual windows so I definitely get a little jealous. Instead I work in my unfinished basement. The bonus of working in an unfinished space is I don’t have to worry about wrecking pristine floors and walls. It’s a little like working in a cave though. As a mixed media artist I use a lot of different supplies so prepare yourself.
This is my primary mixed media art work space. I’m in the midst of serious production time. I have a number of fall arts festival and shows coming up as well as the busy holiday Etsy season. The bright pink board is the beginning of a new project.
Here is my other work table where I create magnets, pins, and other goodies with my art. I have two loyal button presses. I need a lot of different drawers and containers to keep track of all the different button parts and pieces.
So usually I wouldn’t publicize my birthday. Especially since I have been 29 for a few years now. But I decided in the spirit of my special day, I would have an Etsy sale. I am offering my resin art pendants at 50% off their usual price of $18. Yep, that means you get one of my fun art pendants at $9. This sale ends at the stroke of midnight EST tonight so hop on over and check out my pendants!
In other news, I will be selling art, jewelry, magnets and more at the Broadneck High School Craft Bazaar on Saturday, December 1 from 9:30 to 3. On December 8th, I will be at Arundel High School Holiday Craft Fair from 10am to 4pm. Check my events page for more information.
I hope to see you soon!
Happy Halloween! I hope you enjoy the festivities today. I am sending very special thoughts and prayers out to everyone effected by Hurricane Sandy. We were lucky to have our power restored yesterday, but I know many family and friends are still without and facing a massive clean-up. It breaks my heart to see the devastation in my home state of New Jersey. Love to you all!
