Hugs and kisses to all! It is Valentine’s Day! Do you remember making valentines as a kid? My boys are very excited about today. They are looking forward to passing out their valentines and seeing what they receive. My six year old professed that Valentine’s Day is his first favorite holiday. I have to giggle because he has said this about each holiday this year. I am just glad we finally got him to stop reading Halloween books! Hopefully they will save some hugs and kisses for me.

I thought I would take some time to share some of my recent works in progress. At the top of this post are several heart pieces which are in the process of being varnished. I recently sold one of my heart pieces on Etsy to a charming husband who wrote the most wonderful gift message for me to include in the package to his wife. It is so fun to be a part of someone else’s surprise.
The two house pieces celebrate home. One says, “home is where the heart is” and the other says, “there is no place like home.” They will head to my online etsy shop later this week.

Big Girl Shoes -- a work in progress by Claudine Intner. Mixed media collage on wooden clogs. ©2012
Pink shoes? Yes! I have owned a pair of Dutch wooden clogs since I was a child. They lived on bookshelves for a while until someone drew all over them with markers. Instead of throwing them away like a normal person, I hoarded them away in my art supplies for another day. Well, now is the time! I am turning them into a wonderful little reminder of goodness. I have a lot more to add to them — lots of writing and little details to come! It is like a inspiration/affirmation board on shoes! This project is just for me which is certainly a fun thing. I will be sure to share when they are done!
Have a fantastic Valentine’s Day!
