Placecards for Thanksgiving

Leaves

It is Day 24 of Art Every Day Month! I am still plugging along on the sailboat collage, but today I also made placecards for Thanksgiving. I scanned a bunch of leaves and then added names to them in Photoshop. Pretty quick and easy and a little different than those typical rectangular placecards! What fun!

Working on the Sky

/

Still plugging along on my large sailboat collage. This evening I opted to work on the sky. I like to jump around on the collage as I work so that I can gauge the colors and composition before the piece is finished. I have decided the sky is early morning.

Be sure to stop by the Art Every Day Month web site… It is Day 22! And I am so glad to be participating. Even though I am not blogging every day, I am creating something most days. Definitely need my art fix every day!

Still Here Collaging

Collage

I am still here…. plugging along on Art Every Day Month. I haven’t posted much because art these days consists of a few hours a day of cutting and gluing small pieces of paper. Very therapeutic but not very interesting to read about. I am working on a 24 x 48 inch canvas so I might be working on this for a while.

Collage

Detail of work in progress… The white sailboat shapes are just temporary as I work through some issues in my design.

Starting the Collage

It is Day 17 of Art Every Day Month! Hurray!

Today I had a few very pleasant hours of art time. I started cutting papers for my sailboat collage and began work on the canvas. I am still working on the final composition. I went to the library in search of more reference materials without much luck… A little surprising when you can’t find a good book about sailboats in Annapolis! I am debating how much detail to put in the boats. Decisions. Decisions.

Getting started on the water!
